Jatayu Adventure Center

Jatayu Adventure Center is a unique and spectacular tourist destination, offering a mind blowing experience to adventure seekers. It is particularly famous for the gigantic bird sculpture of Jatayu which has its name in the Guinness book of world records for being the largest functioning bird sculpture in the world. Some of the activities that tourists can look forward to at the adventure centre are paintball, trekking, jumaring and archery.

Thenmala Ecotourism

Thenmala attracts foreign and domestic tourists with a host of attractions including boating on the lake, a rope bridge, trekking, mountaineering, biking and a musical fountain. Thenmala is approachable both from Trivandrum and Punalur by road. The nearest railway station is Punalur. Kollam-QLN is better connected nationally. The waterfall called Palaruvi is a prime attraction nearby. Also nearby is a deer rehabilitation center where visitors can see deer in a forest setting and have a peep into a traditional tree house used by forest dwellers to escape harm from wild animals.

Paravur Backwaters Kayaking

Paravur Backwaters is one of the lesser known, tightly kept secret locations in southern Kerala. The Paravur Backwaters is safe and a sheltered waterbody, without much influence of the tidal effects. You can be assured of the safety as the depth of the lake in general is not more than 10 feet and not wider than 1 km. This ensures you don't paddle out and lose orientation in unknown waters. There are no motorboats in the waterbody to cause wake or noise pollution. Paravur Backwaters is part of the West Coast Canal System and connects it to the NW3 National Waterway between Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram.

Palaruvi Water Falls and Hill Station

Palaruvi Falls is a waterfall located in Kollam district in the Indian state of Kerala. It is the 32nd highest waterfall in India. Palaruvi falls from a height of 300 feet and is situated at Aryankavu in the Kollam district of the south Indian state of Kerala

Kottukkal Rock Cut Temple

Kottukal Rock-cut Cave Temple is situated on the Thiruvanathapuram -Kottayam Road and is an idyllic example of rock-cut temple architecture. The temple is situated in Ittiva Panchayat in Kollam district. It has two cells on either side with Sivalingams in each with a projection carrying the figure of Lord Ganapathy at the centre.

Asramam Adventure Park is an urban park in the core Kollam city of Kerala state. It was opened after 1980, on 48 acres of city-owned land. Located beside the Kerala's pride, backwaters of Ashtamudi, this place popularly known as Asramam Picnic Village. It is the main centre of recreational activities in Kollam city

Thangassery Lighthouse

The Thangassery Lighthouse, also known as the Tangasseri Light House, boasts of being the second tallest on the entire coast of Kerala and is thus even one of the most visited lighthouses in the state on this account.  Rior to construction of the lighthouse, the British East India company had installed a tower with an oil lamp. In 1902 the present Tangasseri Lighthouse was completed, which by 1930 had suffered cracks in the tower that required jacketing masonry to be installed. The light source was modified in 1932, 1940, 1962, 1967, 1990 and 1994

Ashtamudi Lake

The 8 arms or channels of the Ashtamudi Lake are what gave it its name. It is the entrance to the famous backwaters of Kerala and the houseboat rides here are extremely famous. The Kollam to Alappuzha route is considered among the best in the backwaters. Cruises here give you a deeper look at the heart and spirit of the backwaters.

Punalur


The Punalur Suspension Bridge is the oldest motorable bridge in Kerala, which was built by the British on AD 1877 and is now a historical attraction. It is also known as "London Bridge Of Kerala". The bridge has a length of 400 feet. The suspension bridge was built to prevent wild animals from crossing into the town from the forest area of old Kattupathanapuram. It is the symbol of Punalur now. It is added to Kerala Tourism Circuit recently. Punalur is also known as the " City of hanging bridge"

Shenduruny Wildlife Sanctuary

Shendurney Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected area in the Western Ghats, India, located in Kollam district of Kerala and comes under the control of Agasthyamalai Biosphere Reserve. This is a tropical semi-evergreen forest and is home to animals like elephants, leopards, bisons, sambar, wild boar, Lion-tailed macaques, langurs, deer and most of the other regular inhabitants of a wild, West Coast tropical evergreen forest.

Kumbhavurutty Waterfalls

Kumbhavurutty Waterfall is a famous waterfalls in South India situated near Aryankavu panchayath in Kollam district of Kerala near Tamil Nadu border. Located on the eastern area of Kollam District, Kumbhavurutty falls is one among the few crowd pulling waterfalls in Kerala. 
This waterfall is a part of river Achankovil. Manalar Waterfall is another important waterfall near to this. The travelers can see wild animals also if lucky. Because the waterfall is very close to the thick Konni Forest area.

Kakkathuruthu

Chinnakada Clock Tower

Chinnakada Clock Tower is a landmark in Kollam City in the Istate of Kerala. In Chinnakada, the tower lies in the heart of the city, close to Kollam Junction Railway Station This quadrangular tower was built by the natives in honor of Unichakam Veedu K G Parameshwaran Pillai, the former chairman of Kollam Municipality between 1932 & 1948. The construction was started in 1941 and completed in 1944. Built with brick and white cement, it has the distinction of being the first clock tower of Travancore. The four big clocks placed on the sides were brought from Kolkata

St. Thomas Fort

Fort Thomas or St. Thomas Fort or Fortaleza da São Tomé, also known as Tangasseri Fort, is a old fort located in the beach town of Tangasseri on the shores of the Arabian Sea in the city of Kollam, Kerala, Set up in 1519 CE, this historic fort in Kollam district, was built by the Portuguese. In its initial design, the fort had three towers and four bastions, and the entrance was from the seafront. The structure was equipped to meet all the artillery requirements then. In 1658, the Dutch conquered the fort. Although the Portuguese regained hold of some of the areas of the fort, it was recaptured by the Dutch in 1661. In 1795, the Thangassery fort was ceded to the British by the Dutch.
